Not as common as the other stalls, but that makes it more unique right? Plus, you look like a flamingo as a bonus.
Most soccer players who know how to juggle can also stall the ball on their foot. That’s usually the first stall that you learn. Then, you see the higher skilled freestylers stalling with the head and the back of the neck. Same goes with the shoulder and the back of the leg. The thigh stall is probably not as difficult to learn as most stalls, but I think it’s fun just the same.
You’ll notice that Genier is using his chest to trap the ball in the video. Using your chest is much easier than trying to balance the ball strictly on the thigh. So if you really want a challenge, try to use ONLY your thigh. I’ve seen some people do it on the very edge of the thigh (right next to the knee).
This soccer trick is just like any other stall. It will take some time to learn it, but it’s not harder than any other stall. Give it a shot. You might like it.
