Soccer Trick: Head Stall

The art of balancing the ball on your head. A couple of tips that might help you.

There’s three main parts to this soccer trick. 1) Lifting the ball to the correct height. 2) Absorbing the bounce by lowering your body RIGHT as the ball touches your head 3) Keeping the ball balanced once it’s on your head.

So think about it …

Keeping the ball on your head is only a small part of this trick. It’s the leg that lifts the ball. So a BIG part of this trick is learning how to lift the ball to the perfect height. I would suggest practicing just that part over and over.

Then, once you can lift the ball to the correct height, you need to learn how to ABSORB THE BOUNCE. You do this by lowering your body at the exact moment when the ball touches your head for the first time.

NOTE: The better you do the lift, the less you’ll have to worry about absorbing the bounce.

Now, once it’s on your head, tilt your head back so that you can keep your eyes on the ball. If it starts to roll left, move a little to the left. If it starts to roll right, move to the right. You get the idea.

After you master this one, you can use it in combination with other stalls. You can transition from a head stall to your shoulder, neck, or anything else. Get creative.
